Hey there! I'm currently giving the site a little makeover, so things may look a little wonky for a bit. Thanks for your patience while I figure things out! -Olive

🍓🍊🍋Special thanks to Cat, Keith and Raku for the support on
Ko-Fi for April and May!🍋🍊🍓
🐝Busy Bee Hours (Month and Some Change)!!!🐝
It’s been a while, I know! How’ve ya been?
It’s definitely been a BUSY couple of months for me. Between game dev, professional dev, personal dev (see: violin), Discord work, website work, marketing, My Birthday, and medical situations and obligations, I’ve been pretty swamped. And heck, I haven’t had time to check in with you!
So here’s a look at some of the things I’ve been up to.
Orribu.Co (You Are Here): I’ve been posting regular updates (with a few hiccups due to recent medical visits + birthday vacation) on my main site. I’ve also been working on my shop on the website where you can order commissions and buy digital goodies. I plan on also getting a monthly membership set up there, but…ONE THING AT A TIME. Or–well…technically two things.
It’s starting to look livelier there, and I couldn’t be happier! I have been cross-posting my newsletter and blog updates and filling in a lot of the blanks that I’ve left. I would LOVE it if you gave the blog a read! Like maybe you’re curious what I meant about Violin? OH! And if you do read it, please tell me if you’ve ever played/wanted to play an instrument because I’m SO CURIOUS!
On that note, if you’re into “updates-from-the-studio” type reads, I would absolutely LOVE IT if you signed up for the newsletter! I’ve got a few snapshots of what I’m working on that I’m going to post soon!
TwistedFates:LUCAS: I’m still going gung-ho working on my indie visual novel, TwistedFates:LUCAS. Last month (with some encouragement), I decided to open up and post a help-needed ad, offering my skills as a digital artist, quality-assurance tester, editor, and voiceover artist in exchange. As of yesterday, I put recruitment on hold so that I could focus on my upcoming surgery in June, but I’m still going to be working (semi?!) solo on the project to inch its development along. I’ve been doing a combination of art, writing, and game development/quality assurance tasks for it, and have also employed the help of a friend of mine, JD, who’s also learning and developing games of his own!
🍊 Wait–ANOTHER Surgery?!🍊
Yup. 😥
Turns out my body can’t stop making unfriendly growths. I just talked to the surgeon earlier this week and he said the thing that’s growing (way too fast) in me is…pretty freakin’ huge. Body just can’t stop going crazy, huh… Insurance and other variables permitting, this surgery will:
1. Go over well. You know, nice and smooth.
2. Only knock me over for a couple of weeks…maybe?
3. Help with the…fatigue and stuff???
But how many times have I gone “oh man this should help with the fatigue” and collapsed from doing like 10% of what a normal healthy person can do. So I anticipate being completely down and out for the entirety of June and hoping to start back up with everything mid-July. I’m even planning an event at my co-working space to get everyone there to kinda embrace their whimsy and say hello to each other!
🍋What About Ko-Fi?🍋
Apologies for the radio silence on Ko-Fi. After learning of Ko-Fi’s rather lax stance on allowing genAI content on their platform, I fell out of love with it, which is why I’ve been working overtime to get my website fully up and running. I’ve actually encountered a couple of Ko-Fi accounts that used genAI, and it made me queasy.
Many other artists and I have been sending feedback to Ko-Fi regarding their stance, and from what I’ve seen, there hasn’t been much communication from their end. I left Patreon for the same reason, among other things, like their fees and pushing their merchant fees from the App Store onto the creators.
Hopping from platform to platform because of the platform’s business decisions is exhausting. And while struggling to get my own platform up and running is exhausting, I believe it certainly beats contending with the whims of [insert other company here].
All that being said, I’ll let you know when the Orribu.Co shop is up and running. I’ll probably do a (VERY) belated birthday sale to celebrate! And on that note…
🍏Have You Commissioned Me Before?🍏
Awesome! Thanks so much for working with me! If you’d like 10-20% off of your next order, could you do me the BIGGEST favor? I’m collecting feedback and testimonials to display on my website, in future videos, and on social media. If we’ve worked together as partners-in-art in the past, I’d love to hear what you think of our time working together and what we made. Here’s a link to the survey if you’d like to help out!

Aaand that’s it for now, I think. I’m going to be in and out of doctors’ offices and continuing the work outside of that. Oh! Though I do wanna know…
Do you appreciate warmer weather and more daylight? If not, what conditions outside are most comfy for you?
Reply to this post and let me know! I’d LOVE to hear from you! <3
